Safety Step Canada specializes in the supply of Tactile indicator plates, which are a system of textured ground surface indicators commonly used at:
- pedestrian ramps
- stairs,
- crossing platforms
- sidewalks
- and other waiting areas to help people who are visually impaired effectively navigate the surrounding environment
Whatever the specifications of your project, we have all of the tactile indicator variations you need, and with the options of : Flexible surface applied, Rigid- Surface applied or Cast in Place and Cast Iron:
1. PU Tactile (flexible), 300mm x 300mm
The PU Tactile is a relatively new and unique concept in Canada. It has been developed to overcome the excessive costs of installing traditional ceramic tiles, which often require demolishing or reconstructing the floor. These PU Tactile tiles can be easily installed on any type of existing surface in no time using a regular construction adhesive designed for your application, wood, concrete, steel, etc...
Safety Step Canada's PU Tactile Ground Surface Indicators are manufactured in a standard tile size of 300mm x 300mm with a square edge to ensure tight joints with minimal gaps. Available in Yellow or Black
2. Surface Applied (Rigid) and Cast in Place tactile indicators,
The perfect solution for retrofitting existing concrete surface or new construction, our surface applied detectable warning panels are constructed of an exterior-grade, fiberglass polymer composite material.
- For use in retrofit applications
- Large perimeter beveled edges for smooth transition
- Secured with color-matched fasteners and structural adhesive
- Surface applied tactile tiles are 1/8″ thick with beveled edges
- Standard sizes: 12” X 12”, 24” X 24”, 24″ x 36″, 24″ x 48″, 24″ x 60″, 36″ x 48″, and 36″ x 60″
The most trusted tactile warning products in the world.
Surfaced Applied Tactile, available in both Rectangular and Radius, is made of a colorfast and UV-stable homogenous glass and carbon composite with fiberglass truncated domes for enhanced durability. The Surface Applied Tactile is used to retrofit over an existing concrete substrate and can be installed in as little as 10 minutes. No advanced expertise is necessary for secure installation—just follow the step-by-step directions.
Our cost-effective surface mounted truncated domes provide safer walkways for pedestrians, including the visually impaired. There’s no need for expensive maintenance, as these detectable warning surfaces are exceptionally durable, even when exposed to harsh weather conditions, and made to last for years.
All of our truncated dome tactile surfaces are in full compliance with the American Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG), Public Right-of-Way (PROW), and California Title 24 Requirements.
Features and Advantages:
- 0.1875” thick with beveled outer perimeter for safe transitions
- Includes 10oz. tube of Chemlink M1 Structural Adhesive
- Includes nylon sleeve anchors and stainless-steel fasteners
- Can be installed within 5 minutes
Applications
Municipal governments and local businesses across the country use surface applied detectable warning surfaces to help people navigate sidewalks, ramps, entryways, pedestrian crossings, and transit platforms. These surface applied ADA tiles assure safety and accessibility no matter the location or application. Each tactile system in our product line meets all local, state, and federal detectable warning surface requirements, so customers never have to worry about compliance issues.
Surface applied truncated domes from ADA Solutions are perfect for retrofit projects. We build our slip-resistant detectable warning pavers with beveled edges for a smooth, safe transition. Choose between two different warning tile configurations—radius and rectangular. Color-matched fasteners and structural adhesives make installation of these surface mounted truncated domes easy and secure.
WORLD CLASS MANUFACTURING AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
Our lineup of superior quality, heavy duty fiberglass polymer composite detectable warning surface tiles are manufactured in a state of the art ISO 9002 certified facility located in Northeast Ohio. Having an ISO 9002 facility allows us to provide our customers and business partners with superior products; through a sophisticated quality management system from start to finish. ADA Solutions’ products are UV stable with homogeneous color throughout the entire panel.
Our panels contain premium quality long strand fiberglass in the base material. During the sheet molding process the fiberglass is blended into the base material during the mixing process and evenly disbursed throughout the entire body of the panel and into the truncated domes we all recognize. This is a critical feature because the truncated domes are the primary point of contact to us as we walk, and are subjected to the highest degree of exposure to foot traffic, rolling apparatus, and street cleaning equipment.

Why use Iron Dome?
Unlike alternative Cast Iron Plates, Our Iron Dome Plates are designed by industry experts and installation practitioners. Our Iron Dome Plates are lighter in weight than alternative cast iron options. This significantly reduces cost of freight as well as the potential for back injuries involving warehouse workers, drivers and installation crew members. The lighter weight Iron Dome Plates are much easier to install and are far less susceptible to depth level variances when installing multiple plates in a consecutive run. This results in far less installation complexity, labor expenses and risk of costly call backs.
