What Are Radius Tactile Systems?
Radius Tactile Systems are curved detectable warning panels designed to meet the latest Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) detectable warning surface requirements. Each panel is manufactured from a glass- and carbon-reinforced polyester composite and produced in uniform color for visual consistency.
Domes are arranged in a square grid pattern in accordance with current standards:
Truncated dome height: 0.2 in
Base diameter: 0.9 in
Dome spacing: 1.6 in to 2.4 in (per Federal Code of Regulations)
Preferred spacing: 2.35 in center-to-center (horizontal and vertical)
Radius SA tiles within standard spacing range require overall dimensions of 24 in × 33.25 in
These raised domes provide tactile feedback to wheelchair users, individuals using walkers or carts, and those who are visually impaired, helping alert them when they are approaching curb edges, ramps, roadways, or other hazard zones.
